By the 17th week of pregnancy, the mother knew about her son's problem.

The doctors advised having an abortion but also explained that there was always hope. The boy would need surgery, which might help, or might not. Despite the threat to her own life, she still decided to give birth and make every effort to ensure Samuil survived.

The boy's diagnosis was gastroschisis. His internal organs were developing outside his tummy. Of course, this is a very complex pathology, but now there are surgeries that allow the intestines to be returned to their place.

Next followed a period of rehabilitation, but the chances of recovery were there. After that, the child's health would not be in danger. Yelizaveta's pregnancy went well. She was monitored in the town of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region. Doctors noted that the child was developing normally and his chances of a happy life were increasing. Closer to the due date, the woman was transferred to a hospital in Mykolaiv, where doctors studied Samuil's problem and ways to help him in detail. Understanding the complexity of the situation, Liza was referred to the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology in Kyiv.

The mother arrived at her destination in the 37th week. A few days later, she had a cesarean section, and her long-awaited son was taken to intensive care.

Doctors examined the child and immediately transferred him to the operating room. Samuil's first surgery lasted three hours. Doctors moved the child's intestines inside, but they couldn't hide all the organs the first time. They were placed in a special Schuster bag and prepared for a second surgery when his tummy healed and the swelling subsided a little.

The boy lay in intensive care for 10 days waiting for the second surgery. Fortunately, he felt well and no complications arose. So, on the tenth day after birth, the boy underwent the next surgery. It also didn't last long, and finally, all the organs were in their places.

Samuil bravely endured the surgery. Now he is already home. His mother says that her son has started to gain weight, which makes her very happy. The boy was provided with the necessary medications and medical supplies thanks to the joint project of "Tvoya opora" and the Guzema Fine Jewellery brand.
