A Dream of a Child Lived in Their Hearts for Three Whole Years

For three long years, the dream of having a child lived in the parents’ hearts. When the test finally showed two lines, they were over the moon with happiness. And when they learned it would be a girl, they didn’t hesitate for a second about the name — Victoria.

The first weeks of pregnancy went well, but the results of the first screening brought worrying news. Ahead lay countless tests, examinations, and anxious moments. The parents worried about every single heartbeat of their little one. In the later stages, Victoria stopped gaining weight, and the delivery turned out to be difficult.

On March 22, 2024, a wonderful girl came into the world — strong, delicate, and deeply desired. After being discharged from the maternity hospital, a new chapter began — the fight for her health. The baby struggled to gain weight, slept poorly, and experienced shortness of breath.

When their daughter turned eight months old, the parents turned to the doctors at the Amosov Institute. After thorough examinations, Victoria was diagnosed with a perimembranous ventricular septal defect, a congenital heart defect. It was decided that surgery would be necessary.

The operation lasted three and a half hours — the longest hours of the parents’ lives. But thanks to the doctors’ skill and little Victoria’s strength, a miracle happened — everything went well. She began to eat better, gain weight, and bring her parents new joy each day.

Victoria’s family sincerely thanks the Lancôme brand for their support during this difficult time. Thanks to their help, all the necessary medications and materials for the surgery and recovery were provided.

This became possible within the framework of the “Big Little Heart” project for St. Nicholas Day 2024.
