This is a wonderful boy named Andriyko. He is very lively and active, always ready for new adventures, and he also loves playing football and has many friends. Therefore, for the large family from Rivne region (the boy's parents are raising four wonderful children), the news of their son's illness came as a real surprise.
The mother's pregnancy went well, and the delivery by cesarean section was also without complications. Andriyko had no health problems – he always felt well. But during a medical examination before starting school, doctors noticed heart problems in the child and suspected a congenital defect. Later, doctors at the Rivne Regional Hospital confirmed their colleagues' fears.
The family was sent to Kyiv to the M.M. Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, where the boy was finally diagnosed with a congenital bicuspid aortic valve. In such cases, surgery is indicated, but Andriyko was still very young, so it was decided to wait until he grew up.
Every six months, the child was brought to the Institute for examination to monitor the situation and observe the dynamics. This continued for five years. And finally, in the summer of 2021, a decision was made to perform the operation. For four hours, surgeons operated on the boy: they widened the aorta in his heart, which was hindering normal blood circulation.
Everything went very well, although Andriyko did spend one day in intensive care. Doctors hope that a repeat operation will not be needed, but there is no absolute certainty about this yet. Therefore, the boy needs to continue undergoing examinations by a cardiologist.
We sincerely hope that everything will be fine with Andriyko, and we wish him good health and all the best! Thanks to the #Charity_chain project, which the "Tvoya opora" Foundation implements with the Guzema Jewerly brand, the boy was provided with all the necessary medications and medical supplies during the operation and while in intensive care.
And a joint project with Synevo made it possible to provide the Custodiol drug for Andriyko's heart surgery. If you want to give another little one a chance at life, click "Help"!
