This little one's name is Emily. Her parents eagerly awaited her birth and were overjoyed with all of her little achievements. At four months old, the child was brought for a routine check-up with the pediatrician. After listening to the girl, the doctor sent Emily for an X-ray because she heard murmurs in her heart. After the examination, the parents were informed that their daughter had a heart defect and needed to go to Kyiv to the M.M. Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.
In the capital, the girl was immediately prepared for surgery because the diagnosis of "atrial septal defect" was confirmed, which meant the little one needed urgent surgery.
Emily had an occluder placed – a device that closes the abnormal opening between the atria. But unfortunately, it didn't suit her little heart – the girl had difficulty breathing. So, after a few days, Emily faced another surgery, but this time – open-heart surgery. Our brave little heroine tolerated the complex four-hour operation well, after which she spent another ten days under the close supervision of doctors at the Amosov Institute.
The surgeons managed to stitch all the holes in the girl's heart, and no further surgery is needed! After recovery, Emily will grow up a healthy child. And we wish her to experience all the colors of this interesting world!
And we were able to help Emily receive all the necessary medications during her stay at the Amosov Institute thanks to #Charity_chain – a joint project of the "Tvoya opora" Foundation and the Gusema Jewerly brand. The project of our foundation with the Synevo network of medical laboratories provided the little one with the drug "Custodiol," without which open-heart surgery is impossible.
