The Story of Illia — A Little Hero with a Big Heart

Illia is the seventh child in a large, loving family. His mother’s pregnancy and delivery went well, and the boy was born calm and obedient. But at just a month and a half old, doctors detected heart murmurs. Examinations, treatments, and constant consultations began.

At four years old, Illia’s parents noticed that he was having trouble breathing — shortness of breath and bluish skin appeared. Cardiologists diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex congenital heart defect.

The family was referred to the Amosov Institute, where doctors conducted all the necessary tests and scheduled surgery.

The five hours of waiting outside the operating room felt like an eternity, but a miracle happened — everything went successfully!

Today, Illia is recovering, active, and happily playing with his brothers and sisters.

His parents dream of only one thing — that their son grows up under a peaceful sky and stays healthy. The rest, they say, they will handle themselves.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the Lancôme brand, which supported them during this difficult time.

Thanks to this help, all the necessary medications and materials for treatment were provided — a true gift for Illia.

This became possible thanks to Lancôme, within the framework of the “Big Little Heart” project for St. Nicholas Day 2024.
