We managed to provide the child with everything necessary for the surgery and in intensive care!

Our dear helpers, you already know this girl, because thanks to you she is alive. This is our Kseniya Moskalenko – a tiny baby who was born with an extremely complex defect. To live, the girl needs her heart repaired. This requires a total of three surgical interventions, two of which are already behind us.

Such a desired daughter. Her parents waited for her arrival more than anything. But as soon as their Ksyusha was born, they cried out in horror. In the baby's chest, doctors saw not a healthy heart, but a tangle of defects – Tetralogy of Fallot. With Tetralogy of Fallot, four defects manifest simultaneously in the tiny heart: the pulmonary artery valve is narrowed, the aorta is displaced, the right ventricle is hypertrophied, and there is a hole between it and the left ventricle through which blood mixes. Half of the children born with Tetralogy of Fallot do not live to be 5 years old.

Fortunately, doctors managed to detect the defect in Kseniya's heart in time, and the first stage of the operation was performed immediately after her birth.

The baby went home to grow a little and gain strength before the next surgery. The second one was scheduled when Ksyusha turned eight months old. This time it was already a "Glenn shunt" surgery.

During it, cardiac surgeons formed an additional connection between the superior vena cava and the right pulmonary artery. This allowed some of the venous blood to bypass the remaining defect and relieve the heart.

Fortunately, everything went well. After four days in intensive care, the girl was transferred to a regular ward and then discharged. Now our Ksyusha will be able to live like this until she is 13-14 years old. Then she will have the final surgery.
