Danilo is only 9 years old, and he has already overcome things that would be difficult for an adult to handle.

Heart surgery is difficult, both morally and physically. It requires considerable courage, as recovery depends partly on the skill of the doctors and partly on the patient's desire to get well. The hero of this story turned out to be a very strong boy, despite the significant ordeal that befell him.

The little boy was born on April 20, 2012. At that time, there was no talk of any health problems. For a long time, no signs of a defect in his tiny heart were observed. Until recently, when Danilo's hemoglobin began to drop sharply. He couldn't gain weight and experienced frequent headaches.

Then, his parents brought their son for a check-up, where the little boy was diagnosed with a heart problem. After hearing suspicious murmurs, the child was sent to Kyiv. They received a referral to the Amosov Heart Institute, as the problem was serious and needed to be addressed by true specialists.

The family arrived in Kyiv, and all fears were confirmed. Urgent surgery was needed. Danilo had an atrial septal defect. Due to this defect, the heart was excessively overloaded, trying to pump blood normally throughout the body while ignoring the flaw. For three hours, doctors sutured the septum, saving the boy.

Thanks to the Charity Chain project – a joint project of the Guzema Fine Jewelry brand and the "Tvoya opora" charitable foundation – the boy was provided with everything necessary during his stay in intensive care. Fortunately, everything went quickly, and after just a day, the little boy was transferred to a regular ward. We wish him and his family good health. Doctors give good prognoses, so for now, no more surgeries will be needed.
