A Heart That Beats to the Rhythm of Music

A Heart That Beats to the Rhythm of Music

Viktoriia grew up as a sensitive, modest girl who loved learning and music. She fell in love with playing the domra, finding harmony and inspiration in its melodies.
But one accident changed everything.

She was only four years old when, during a routine medical check-up, doctors discovered a heart problem. Her parents were advised to consult specialists at the Ohmatdyt hospital, where Viktoriia was monitored for ten years. Her condition remained stable — she grew, studied, and dreamed of music.

Then one day, the unexpected happened — Viktoriia lost consciousness right on the street. At first, everyone thought it was due to the heat. But when it happened again, her mother raised the alarm.
After an examination, the cardiologist delivered devastating news: Viktoriia had mitral valve insufficiency. This meant that blood was circulating improperly between the heart’s chambers — and without surgery, her life was in danger.

The day of the surgery. Six hours of struggle. Six hours of hope.
And finally — victory!

Today, Viktoriia continues her journey in music. Her heart beats to the rhythm of the domra, and she dreams of becoming a renowned musician.

This story became possible thanks to those who help save children’s hearts.
Charity_chain, a joint project of the Tvoya Opora Foundation and Guzema Jewelry, provided Viktoriia with all the necessary medications during her treatment.
Our steadfast partner, Credit Agricole Ukraine, supplied the vital drug Custodiol for open-heart surgeries free of charge.

Every contribution to this chain of kindness saves lives.
