Now the little heart is working well.

The mother was informed after giving birth that their little one was born with a congenital heart defect. Arina had pulmonary artery stenosis, and this greatly worried her parents. However, the doctors reassured them and said that this defect required observation and constant monitoring for the time being. So, for the first few months, specialists monitored the girl's condition and periodically examined the child.

When Arina was 10 months old, she was brought for a consultation to the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. For a week, the girl underwent a thorough examination and had all the necessary tests done. Based on the results, the doctors concluded that the little one needed surgery.

The operation was performed the next day. Surgeons completely removed the stenosis that was preventing proper blood circulation. During the four-hour surgery, Arina underwent plastic surgery of the pulmonary artery trunk with a patch made from her own pericardium, with the formation of sinuses. After such a complex operation, the girl spent another week in intensive care, where medics carefully monitored her condition and provided medication support.

According to doctors' forecasts, repeat surgery should not be necessary, but they emphasize the mandatory medical supervision of the girl — Arina must systematically visit a cardiologist.

We are immensely happy that the "Big Little Heart" project of our foundation has helped another child. We wish Arina strong health and a speedy recovery after surgery!

During her stay in the hospital, the girl was provided with all the necessary medications and medical supplies. This opportunity is provided by #Charity_chain, a joint project of "Tvoya opora" and the Guzema Jewerly brand. And the project of our foundation with Synevo helped to provide the drug "Custodiol," the use of which is extremely necessary during open-heart surgery.
