Pavlo's first three weeks of life were spent in intensive care.

The mother was in her 28th month of pregnancy when Pavlusyk was diagnosed with intestinal obstruction. Since the problem was quite serious, the woman was monitored for the remainder of her pregnancy at the Kyiv Regional Hospital.

Svitlana, the future son's mother, couldn't give birth naturally, so at 35 weeks, doctors performed a cesarean section. Immediately after birth, the child was admitted to intensive care. The diagnosis was confirmed, and the baby was quickly transferred to the IPAG (Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology), where he could receive proper care and have the defect he was born with corrected – duodenal atresia.

Pavlyk was immediately examined, and a decision was made to operate. On the third day of life, he was placed on the operating table. The three-hour procedure involved doctors skillfully correcting the volvulus, removing embryonic adhesions, and checking the patency of the intestines.

After that, the child spent a long 3 weeks in the intensive care unit of the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Thanks to #charity_chain, a joint project of "Tvoya opora" and Gusema Jewerly Charity Chain, Pavlyk received the necessary medications in intensive care, which also contributed to his recovery. Now he is home, and his life is no longer in danger.
