Sashko was born with a heart pathology. The diagnosis was coarctation of the aorta. The main problem is the narrowing of the largest arterial vessel, which directly supplies blood from the left ventricle.
This defect is accompanied by hypertrophy of the left ventricle and in the future can lead to heart failure. At any moment, it could end fatally. Having waited only 7 months, the little boy underwent surgery at the Amosov Heart Institute, and his aorta was widened.
When the boy turned 3 years old, during a routine examination, doctors discovered another problem, but this time not with the aorta – subaortic stenosis of the aortic valve – was added to the tiny patient's medical record.
For a long time, the little boy had to prepare for the next operation, traveling to Amosov for constant check-ups. Often, doctors, knowing Sashko's problem, themselves traveled to Mariupol to examine him. About ten years passed before the aorta narrowed to the state that allowed doctors to intervene and finally save the little boy.
The boy was already 10 when, finally, during a check-up, his mother was informed that Sashko was ready for surgery. A month later, the family arrived in Kyiv, where the boy was immediately operated on. He underwent resection of the membrane that had grown over the aorta of his small heart. The operation, lasting an hour and a half, was very successful.
Thanks to the doctors who devotedly took on the task of saving the little heart, and also thanks to the "Charity Weekend. Healthy Day with Masha Yefrosinina" project, which provided the boy with all the necessary medications in intensive care, the recovery process accelerated. Currently, the boy is at home and feeling well.
We are happy that everything went successfully and that Sashko is so bravely overcoming difficulties. This child should live, despite all the obstacles that fate has prepared for hi
