The boy's condition was severe, but he was saved.

His heartbeat was monitored every second.

Pavlyk's family is from the Chernivtsi region. The little boy wasn't even a year old yet, and he had already learned the way to the capital. But his parents didn't take him there for entertainment.

Pavlo has a congenital heart defect. The diagnosis is Tetralogy of Fallot. Despite all the disappointing prognoses, cardiac surgeons repaired his little heart for four hours. The surgery was successful, but the little boy's condition was unsatisfactory. He spent a long time in intensive care, not breathing on his own. The doctors didn't leave his side for a minute. Monitors tracked every beat of his tiny heart, and there were tiers of IV drips and sensors next to his bed.

Fortunately, the little boy got better, and the doctors released the family home. Every month, Pavlo was examined at the district hospital, and in March 2021, a check-up was scheduled at the Amosov Institute. A follow-up visit was scheduled just two months later, and they were informed about a likely second surgery. The boy's condition was quite severe, strong heart murmurs were observed, and swelling wouldn't go down from his small body.

So, in June, his mother again brought Pavlo to the Amosov Heart Institute, where doctors confirmed their words and admitted the little boy to prepare for surgery. First, he underwent a catheterization, but there was no result. Radical measures had to be taken.

For two weeks, doctors chose the moment to operate on the little boy with the least risk, and he finally waited for salvation. The surgery lasted 8 hours, during which Pasha's hole – a defect in his heart caused by his condition – was sewn up. The boy spent another two weeks gaining strength in intensive care. The parents are very grateful to the "Charity Chain" project – a joint project of the "Tvoya opora" foundation and Valeria Guzema's brand Guzema Fine Jewellery – for providing the necessary medications during his stay in intensive care.

Later, Pavlyk was discharged, but his condition is still not stable enough, so everyone is waiting for his return to the Amosov Institute in three months to ensure his recovery. We wish him strength and health.
