Viktoriia is a wonderful thirteen-year-old girl who grew up in a large, friendly, and most importantly, loving family. Her mother raises four children on her own, but there was always enough maternal care for everyone. Viktoriia's health never caused concern among her loved ones: she developed according to her age and was always active. The only thing that worried her mother was that her daughter got tired quickly, but that can happen in adolescence.

The illness manifested itself very unexpectedly. One day at school, the girl started to suffocate right during a physical education lesson. After this incident, her mother raised the alarm. They underwent a thorough medical examination. The cardiologist explained the cause of the attack. That's how Viktoriia learned that she had a congenital heart defect and pulmonary hypertension as a consequence of the defect.

Doctors from Poltava advised the mother to take her daughter to Kyiv to the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery for additional examination and to determine the final treatment strategy. Specialists at the Institute confirmed the diagnosis and suggested operating on the girl.

The surgery was straightforward. In three hours, surgeons removed the defect and put the vessels in Viktoriia's heart back in their proper places. The day after the surgery, the girl was transferred to a regular ward and soon discharged. Currently, Viktoriia is gaining strength and recovering at home. Very soon, she will return to her usual active life. No more operations are needed!

The girl received help within the framework of the "Big Little Heart" project, the goal of which is to help children with congenital heart defects.
